Finished Work
A running look at interiors, exteriors, and wall restoration jobs finished around Philadelphia and South Jersey. Every wall here got scraped, patched, sanded, and primed before any color went on it.

Behind every photo
What you're actually looking at
Most of these rooms started as a wallpaper strip job or a wall that needed to be scraped and skim coated before it could hold paint. Ed Hechler has been doing that kind of prep work in Philadelphia since 1999, and it is still the first thing that happens on every job, whether the homeowner wants sage green cabinets or a bold turquoise bedroom.
The colors in this gallery are all the homeowner's choice. Our job is the surface underneath: straight cut lines, even coats, no drips on the trim, no bleed onto the ceiling.

The same room, start to finish
Prep is most of the work and none of it shows up in a finished photo. These are the same walls and decks shot before we started and again after the last coat went on.

Wallpaper removal, living room
Every wall in this room had wallpaper glue and torn plaster under it. We stripped it, patched the gouges, skim coated, then finished in a warm neutral with white trim and ceiling. The floors were refinished once the paint was done.

Front porch decking
The old finish was peeling down to bare board in the traffic lanes. Scraped, sanded flat, primed the bare spots, and put back in a solid terracotta that holds up to sun and foot traffic.

A gymnasium, ceiling to trim
This last job was big. Primer sealed and two coats of finish on ceiling, walls, windows and trim.
Open trusses, arched windows and a floor that had to stay protected the whole time. The scaffold moved with the work and the room went back to the school clean.
